The world changes when it snows. It becomes a little bit magical, a tiny bit fragile and a whole lot crazy if you decide to spend a few days in the mountains.
Kuari Pass is one of the coolest winter treks in the Himalayas. In just 3 days, you get to breath in a world absolutely different from your own, filled with wonders of nature and the company of those who enjoy the wild air.
Here is why you will love this trek, and the team creates this experience for you.
1. A unique itinerary that ends at Auli:
The itinerary chosen by Bikat is different than others. Your adventure doesn’t end at Kuari Pass, it actually begins there. After a touch down at Kuari Pass, you have a whole day of adventure waiting ahead of you the very next day. You’ll leave Tali campsite and head to Auli.
And here are the treasures you’ll come across enroute to Auli.

Walking through the scenic Gorson Bugyal:
Bugyals are alpine pasture lands or meadows in the higher regions of the Himalayas. And walking through Gorson Bugyal is absolutely rad. It’s the sheer emptyness here that takes your breath away. As if you are walking on virgin earth; before technology, buildings, pollution, noise and stress took over.
…and if the chairlifts are operational at Auli Ski Resort, you get to cover the last bit in style.
2. A grand display of so many Himalayan Peaks:
It is almost impossible to come across so many incredible Himalayan peaks in such a short trek. Be ready to get witness views that will leave you inspired. Although you start seeing the peaks right from day 1, but the views get better day after day. Because of a slight change in the itinerary, you get better views of peaks like Nanda Devi, Neelkantha, Hathi Ghoda parvat, Dronagiri, Pangarchulla, Chaukhamba, Kamet and the Bugyal Koti mountain range.
The views are a surprise for everyone who goes to Kuari Pass. Somehow, most people underestimate this trek and have no idea how scenic it actually is.

3. A glimpse of rural life:
They say the soul of India lives in its villages and you’ll get a glimpse of it during the trek. You’ll come across a few remote villages like Dhak, Karchi and Tugashi on your first day and witness the life of the locals who’ve made these mountains their home. It’s incredible to see, how in the middle of nowhere, life goes on without fancy gadgets, barely any electricity and the thing we can’t live without – the internet.
4. Camping in the middle of a forest:
Your campsites make a hell of difference when you go on a trek. If they ain’t pretty, you’ll probably regret going on that trek. Although, in all honesty, the first day on the trail is not extremely scenic, but all of that changes the minute you reach the Tali campsite. You’ll be surrounded by huge oak trees and if it ends up snowing there, you will absolutely fall in love.
Now here is the catch, Kuari Pass is a popular trek, and so the campsites tend to get crowded. But thankfully, team Bikat makes sure you camp in a secluded spot, so you have the campsite to yourself.
It doesn’t look like we experienced all of this in just 3 days right? Well, we did. And it was wonderful.
