Located in the Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh, Sangla is a quiet town that offers everything a nature lover has ever dreamed of. The nearest major city to Sangla is Shimla, which is 215 kms away.
Shimla can be reached by:
1) Flight
One can reach Shimla by flying into Shimla Airport which is located at a distance of 15 kms from the city. Domestic airlines operate direct flights between Delhi and Shimla. Connecting flights are available from all other major cities. Alternatively, one can also fly into Shaheed Bhagat Singh Airport in Chandigarh which is 123 kms away. Direct flights to Chandigarh are available from most major cities. From Chandigarh, one can avail bus services to Shimla from the ISBT Bus Station or hire a private taxi.
2) Bus from Delhi
Shimla is located at a distance of 360 kms from Delhi. Both government and private buses ply on a regular basis between Delhi and Shimla. It takes approximately 8-10 hours to cover the distance and the cost of the bus ticket ranges between Rs.800-1200. Buses leave from ISBT Kashmere Gate in Delhi and drop off at ISBT Shimla.
3) Train from Delhi
Regular trains run between Delhi and Chandigarh including Himalayan Queen and Kalka Shatabdi Express. The journey takes approximately 3-4 hours and the cost of the ticket ranges between Rs.100-1000 depending on the train and coach preference. Alternatively, one can also take the train upto Kalka Railway Station, from where toy trains are available all the way to Shimla.
