4. Hemis Monastery

Hemis is the landmark of monasteries in Leh. It is the biggest and most famous monastery in Leh. every year in July, the Hemis festival takes place in which the monks wear beautiful masks and revel in celebrations. It is considered to be one of the sacred rituals here.

5. Leh Royal Palace

Leh Royal Palace is a 17th-century fort standing tall in aplomb at the top of the mountain. One gets the grandeur views of Stok Kangri and Zanskar Range from the top. Although a huge part of the palace is in the relic, the true beauty lies in the restored artifacts of the royal family in the palace. The palace is lit up on special occasions and looks absolutely spectacular.

6. Khardung La Pass

Khardung La Pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world, is a gateway to Nubra Valley. The overwhelming feeling when you are such a height is a reason enough to cross this pass. The views one gets from up top are beyond comparison.

8. Diskit Gompa

Diskit Gompa is one of the ancient monasteries in Nubra Valley. The 32 m tall statue of Buddha made with 8 kg of gold is worth seeing. The statue which overlooks the Shyok River has been recently gifted by the head of Gompa.
